SPA RETREAT OFFERS DAY OFF FOR WOMEN BEING TREATED FOR BREAST CANCER

Event Will Focus on Self-Care Techniques for Emotional, Physical and Spiritual Well-being

(Englewood, NJ) –The Rocking Chair, a women’s wellness center in Englewood, NJ is proud to announce a partnership with Sharsheret, a national organization of cancer survivors dedicated to addressing the unique concerns of young Jewish women facing breast cancer.  The two organizations will collaborate on Tuesday, March 9 to offer a unique experience for women suffering from breast cancer and for breast cancer survivors.

During a half-day spa retreat, The Rocking Chair’s team of experts will lead guests through stress reduction techniques, such as yoga and meditation, advise on couples communication strategies, and discuss naturopathic and nutritional tips, particularly geared towards women dealing with breast cancer, and the side effects of treatment. This free event includes a healthy, kosher spa lunch for participants.

Dr. Naomi Greenblatt, founder and medical director of The Rocking Chair, is pleased to partner with Sharsheret for this event, citing a “shared mission and purpose.” “Both The Rocking Chair and Sharsheret strive to provide women with compassionate and caring support, as well as education, so that they may live healthy and fulfilling lives,” says Greenblatt. “Women affected by breast cancer are up against an extraordinary challenge. This retreat will give these women the opportunity to take a few hours to focus on taking care of their own well-being.”

Ellen Kleinhaus, project manager at Sharsheret agrees. “Women living with breast cancer today are busy juggling medical appointments, while coping with the impact of their diagnosis on their careers and personal lives.  A mind-body retreat is a welcome change of pace.”
